Italian voice over recording services for your project
Italian is the official language of Italy, Vatican City and San Marino and one of the 24 official languages of the European Union. In Switzerland, a variant of Italian also has official language status. Worldwide, about 65 million people speak Italian as their mother tongue and another 20 million as a second language.
The Italian language belongs to the Romance languages within the Indo-European language family. Italian, like all Romance languages, developed from the spoken Latin language “Vulgar Latin”. Standard Italian is based on Tuscan and is therefore an Italo-Dalmatian language, to which Sicilian and the extinct Dalmatian also belong.
In the Italian language there is a so-called “Diglossia”, which means that the standard Italian is used only in the written and in formal situations. In oral communication, most of the spoken language is the respective dialect. Italian dialects can be divided into northern, central and southern Italian dialects. Standard Italian, as also spoken in the Italian media, has been the standard language since the 19th century and is based on the Florentine dialect “Tuscan”.
Voice over recordings in Italian are carried out in professional recording studios located in Italy. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Italian language and are trained professional voice talents.
