Bosnian is the official language in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro along with Croatian and Serbian, and an officially recognized minority or regional language in Serbia, Montenegro and the Republic of Kosovo. Nearly 3 million people speak Bosnian as their mother tongue and an additional million as a second language.

The Bosnian language belongs to the South Slavic languages within the Indo-European language family. Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian are almost identical languages, which were treated as a common language during the period of socialist Yugoslavia as Serbo-Croatian. Bosnian was only recognized as an independent language after the disintegration of Yugoslavia. The main differences between Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian are to be found in the vocabulary. Bosnian uses more foreign and loan words from Turkish, Arabic and Persian. In addition, the letter H is more emphasized in Bosnian.

In addition to Latin and Cyrillic script, the Bosnian script has in the course of its history also used various other scriptures, e.g. Begovica, a western variant of the Cyrillic script, or Arebica, an extension of the Arabic script adapted to the Bosnian alphabet. Today the Latin script is used.

Bosnian grammar is, with a few exceptions, identical to Croatian and Serbian. There are 7 cases: nominative, genitive, dative, accusative, vocative, instrumental and locative. The sentence structure in Bosnian follows the SVO scheme (subject-verb-object), also used in English, German or Russian.

We have already implemented some projects in Bosnian, including the voice over recordings for a documentary on the construction of the Makkah Royal Clock Tower in Mecca; commercials for Frosch, a brand of the household chemicals company Werner & Mertz and phone-based patient survey systems for the pharmaceutical company ICON.

Voice over recordings in Bosnian are carried out in professional recording studios located in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Bosnian language and are trained professional voice talents.
