The Turkish language is the official language in Turkey and beside Greek the official language in Cyprus and there also the official language in the internationally not recognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Turkish is also spoken as the local official language in Macedonia, Romania and Kosovo.

In total, over 85 million people speak Turkish, of which about 65 million are native speakers. In Turkey, more than 80% of people speak Turkish as their mother tongue, which is about 64 million. A large number of Turkish-speaking minorities now live in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Greece. Due to emigration to the western industrial nations, many Turks live abroad, including more than 3 million in Germany.

The Turkish language belongs to the Oghusian branch of the Turkic languages and is closely related to Azerbaijani and Turkmen.

The Turkish language itself has a large number of regional dialects, which can be divided into the groups of the Black Sea region, East, Southeast and Central Anatolia as well as the Aegean Sea. Of particular importance is the Istanbul dialect, which forms the basis for today’s Turkish high-level language. In 1928, a variant of the Latin alphabet, the “new Turkish alphabet”, was introduced in Turkey. This was also based on the spoken Istanbul dialect.

The Turkish language is an agglutinating language. Grammatically, the sentence structure follows the SOV scheme (subject-object-verb), as is the case with Korean, for example.

We have already implemented a considerable number of projects in Turkish, including on-board announcements and hotlines for Emirates and flydubai airline, numerous web-based training courses (WBTs) for the automobile manufacturer BMW, voice announcements for the defibrillator manufacturer Zoll Medical; educational films for the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA), as well as the complete production of explanatory videos for the pharmaceutical company ICON.

Voice over recordings in Turkish are carried out in professional recording studios located in Turkey. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Turkish language and are trained professional voice talents.
