Irish Gaelic voice over recording services for your project
The Irish language, also known as Irish Gaelic, is the official language of Ireland and Northern Ireland and one of the 24 official languages of the European Union. Approximately 1.5 million people speak Irish as their second language and an estimated 60,000 to 70,000 people speak Irish as their mother tongue.
The Irish language belongs to the island Celtic languages within the Indo-European language family. It is closely related to the Scottish Gaelic language in Scotland, which is also one of the island Celtic languages.
In written form, e.g. on road signs, legal texts and official signs, Irish can be found throughout the Republic. As a spoken language, on the other hand, the language is becoming less and less important. Irish is still taught as a compulsory subject in all schools in Ireland, but all other subjects are taught in English.
Irish has 3 main dialects which differ in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Munster Irish is the dialect spoken in the south of Ireland, Connacht Irish is spoken in the northwest of Ireland and Ulster Irish is the dialect spoken in Northern Ireland.
The Irish language uses the Latin alphabet and used to be a highly reflective language. In the meantime, the language has simplified grammatically in contrast to the earlier spoken Old Irish strongly. The sentence structure in Irish follows the VSO scheme (verb-subject-object), similar to Arabic.
Voice over recordings in Irish are carried out in professional recording studios located in Ireland. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Irish Gaelic language and are trained professional voice talents.
