Finnish voice over recording services for your project
Finnish is, besides Swedish, the official language of Finland and one of the 24 official languages of the European Union. It is also a recognized minority language in Sweden and regionally in Norway, Russia and Estonia. About 6 million people speak Finnish as their mother tongue.
The Finnish language belongs to the Baltic Sea Finnish languages within the Finno-Ugric language family. It is closely related to the language Estonian and remotely to Hungarian. The vocabulary contains many loan words from Swedish, Russian and, more recently, English.
Finnish belongs to the so-called agglutinative languages, which are characterized by a complex morphophonology (e.g. the “step change” originating from the primitive Finnish period, in which the root of the word changes both in writing and in vocalization) as well as the absence of the grammatical gender. It modifies and inflects nouns, adjectives, pronouns, numerals and verbs, depending on their roles in the sentence. The grammar in Finnish knows 15 cases and the sentence structure follows the SVO scheme (subject-verb-object), as for example also in English, German or Russian. Finnish uses the Latin script with its own alphabet.
The differences between Finnish dialects are small and almost limited to pronunciation. The vocabulary and grammar, on the other hand, are identical in almost all dialects. Finnish dialects can be divided into groups of West Finnish and East Finnish dialects.
Voice over recordings in Finnish are carried out in professional recording studios located in Finland. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Finnish language and are trained professional voice talents.
