Malayalam voice over recording services for your project
Malayalam is the official language of Kerala, the union territories of Lakshadweep and Mahé, the enclave of Puducherry. The language Malayalam is spoken mainly in the state of Kerala at the southwest coast of India and in some adjoining areas in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Malayalam belongs to the Dravidian language family. In total, about 3.6 percent of the Indian population speak Malayalam, so about 37 million people. In addition, there are numerous Malayalis living abroad.
Besides Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, Malayalam is one of the four major Dravidian languages and belongs to the southern Dravidian branch of the language family. Malayalam has developed only between 800 and 1000 A.D. as an independent language from Tamil and has been strongly influenced by Sanskrit, the classical language of Hinduism.
Malayalam is written in its own script, the Malayalam script, which belongs to the family of Indian scripts. It goes back to the Brahmi script from the 3rd century BC and originated in the 8th century from the Grantha script. It is an intermediate form of alphabet and syllable writing in which each consonant character has an immanent vowel a, which can be changed by diacritical characters.
Regarding the pronunciation of Malayalam, a difference is made between native words and phonemes taken from Sanskrit. The special characteristic of Malayalam is the differentiation of the plosives and nasals according to six articulation types.
We have already implemented several projects in Malayalam, including voice recordings for telephone-based patient survey systems for the pharmaceutical company ICON, as well as recordings for a car navigation system for Pioneer.
Voice over recordings in Malayalam are carried out in professional recording studios located in India. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Malayalam language and are trained professional voice talents.
