Afrikaans voice over recording services for your project
Afrikaans is one of 11 official languages in South Africa and a minority language in Namibia and Botswana. Afrikaans is spoken by nearly 7 million people as their mother tongue and of additional 22 million as a second or third language.
Afrikaans is the traditional language of the Boers in South Africa, it belongs to the West Germanic branch of the Indo-European languages and originated from the Dutch of the 17th century. It goes back to the Dutch colonization and has simplified grammatically for the purpose of easier communication. Most Flexions were abolished, Afrikaans knows also no diffraction of the verb, only one gender and only one certain article: “die”. The sentence structure of Afrikaans follows the SVO scheme (Subject-Verb-Object), as for example in English, German or Russian.
About 95% of Afrikaans vocabulary is identical to Dutch. However, there are many borrowings from the other colonial languages English and French, the languages of the former slaves, Malay and Creole Portuguese as well as the Bantus languages of the natives.
We have already implemented several projects in Afrikaans, including web-based training courses (WBTs) for Sonic E-Learning Inc., or several telephone-based patient survey systems for ICON or Pfizer, as well as the complete production of explanatory videos for the pharmaceutical company ICON.
Voice over recordings in Afrikaans are carried out in professional recording studios located in South Africa. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Afrikaans language and are trained professional voice talents.
