The Azerbaijani language (also called Azeri or Azeri Turkish) belongs to the southwestern Turkic languages and is the official language in Azerbaijan. It is spoken there by over 9 million people. Today Azerbaijani is the most important Turkic language in Iran with over 14 million native speakers. Azerbaijani is also spoken by minorities in Turkey, Iraq and many successor states of the former USSR. It is estimated that more than 23 million Azerbaijani native speakers worldwide speak Azerbaijani.

The Azerbaijani language can be divided into two main blocks: North Azerbaijani (North Azerbaijani Turkish), which was strongly influenced by Russian, and South Azerbaijani (South Azerbaijani Turkish), which was strongly influenced by Persian. North Azerbaijani is still the official language of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the closest relative of Turkey-Turkish. South Azerbaijani, on the other hand, is spoken in large parts of Iran and Turkey. In both variants there are numerous dialects.

The modern Azerbaijani written language is based on the Baku dialect, while the Azerbaijani spoken in Iran goes back to the dialect of Tabriz. The Latin script is used today as the standard script for Azerbaijani.

The Azerbaijani language was the basis for the development of the related Central Asian Turkic languages. Azerbaijani grammar became the basis of Uzbek and Turkmen. Furthermore, the Kazakh and Kyrgiz languages were strongly influenced by Azerbaijani.

In Azerbaijani, for example, we recorded an explanatory movie for the European Olympic Committee, which was produced for the 2015 European Games in Baku. We also produced radio ads for the fashion label New Yorker.

Voice over recordings in Azerbaijani are carried out in professional recording studios located in Azerbaijan. We work with native speakers who have a perfect command of the Azerbaijani language and are trained professional voice talents.
